Activity
We were appointed by V.Group, the world’s largest ship management company, in January 2020 to implement a strategic media relations campaign.
Our brief changed almost immediately with the arrival of the Covid pandemic. As well as securing the company a steady stream of coverage in the global maritime press, we found ourselves lobbying government to recognise seafarers as key workers and handling internal communications with the company’s 44,000 staff and seafarers.
Once the worst of the pandemic was over, we were able to refocus. As well as securing regular interviews and op-ed opportunities for the executive team, we drafted keynote speeches and produced compelling sales presentations, created thought-provoking white papers and prepared a range of marketing collateral, including advertisements and exhibition displays.
We also introduced WayPoint, a quarterly newsletter featuring an introduction from the CEO, round-up of company news, thought leadership article, interview with a key person from V.Group and profile of a key customer.
In the hands of our copywriters and designers, WayPoint has proved to be a highly effective vehicle for V.Group to showcase its expertise and breadth of services in an engaging and user-friendly way. Open rates and sentiment continue to increase among all three target audiences with each new edition.
It has also succeeded in enhancing perceptions of V.Group and reinforced its dominant position in the market (evidenced by a recent bidding war for the company!).
